BRING ON THE KIDS
And man do they come running every Friday afternoon.
Some weeks we have 20, some weeks closer to 50 kiddos who emerge from this little community to play with a bunch of gringas.
Their childlike joy and excitement is so contagious.
We see these kids out and about the town during the week and when Friday hits, we can’t be more excited for the two hours we get to spend with them.
——-
It’s the endless piggyback rides they are eager to have.
The number of times we play baby shark in a row dancing with them.
The trampoline that every. single. kid. wants to jump on at the same time.
The way they eagerly want to answer questions about Jesus and our bible story.
The hugs they freely give.
The way the boys entertain our poor soccer skills.
The laughter running laps and suicides for “soccer training”
And of course, their favorite time — snack time
——-
What a sweet gift these past 8 weeks were with these kids but also how hard the goodbyes were this week.
Father,
I praise You for the sweet time spent with Your children.
I pray Your children know they are loved and deeply cherished by You.
Thank You for filling them with childlike joy and wonder.
Continue to reveal more of yourself to them.
You are so good.
What a precious sweet time you’ve have with these kids. There is no doubt they were touched by the love and kindness you have shown them. They will forever have a special place in your heart as you will in theirs. Love you!
